Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbs. ketchup
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbs. cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 3 Tbs. cider vinegar
  • 2 lbs. chicken wings, disjointed

Instructions

Combine all ingredients except the chicken and pour over wings. For best flavor, marinate for several hours in the refrigerator. Place wings in a single layer in a baking pan. Bake at 400 deg. for 30 to 40 minutes or until nicely browned, turning once.

Party Franks

Ingredients

1 pound chicken or turkey frankfurters
¼ cup barbecue sauce
2 Tbsp. HONEY
¼ tsp. dry mustard
½ tsp. ginger

Instructions

Cut each frank into fourths and set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan or skillet. Add franks and continue cooking until heated thoroughly. Serve hot on toasted hamburger burns or with cocktail picks as an appetizer. Makes 8 servings.

Poppy Seed Dressing for Salad

Ingredients

1/3 cup HONEY
1/3 cup vinegar
1 1/4 cup salad oil
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
1 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds

Instructions

Add ingredients in blender or mixer bowl. Blend or mix until oil disappears. Makes 2 cups.

Honey Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 1 can unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1 to 2 liters ginger ale

Instructions

Add Honey to hot water; add fruit juices and water. Chill. Just before serving, add ginger ale. Garnish with lemon or orange slices and maraschino cherries.

Peach Cheese Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 can sliced peaches (unsweetened)
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup Honey (for glaze)

Instructions

Soften cream cheese. Add eggs, Honey and vanilla. Blend well. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 375 deg. for 30 minutes. Cool. Drain peaches; reserve 1 cup juice. Combine cornstarch and Honey. Stir in reserved juice, lemon juice and extract. Cook, stirring, until thick. Arrange peaches petal fashion on baked cheese pie filling. Garnish with a maraschino cherry or other fruit of your choice. Spoon glaze over fruit (top of pie). Chill 1 hour.

Honey Rhubarb Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup sour milk (or buttermilk)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh chopped rhubarb
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

Sift dry ingredients together and set aside. In a mixing bowl, stir oil, Honey, sugar and egg until well blended. Alternatively, add the dry ingredients and the milk to the mixture. Stir in rhubarb and nuts. Spoon batter into greased muffin tins. Top with a mixture of 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tsp. of butter. Bake at 325 deg. for 35 to 40 minutes.

Honey Krispie Bars

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Honey
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter, chunky
  • 3 1/2 cups Rice Krispies (or Special K)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

Bring Honey and peanut butter just to a boil. Add vanilla and cereal. Mix well. Pack into ungreased cake pan. Melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips together and spread over bars. Let cool and enjoy.

Strawberry Honey Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups honey
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 2 cups crushed strawberries
  • A few whole strawberries for dressing at serving

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until uniform and gradually add honey mixing well. Add milk, cream, evaporated milk, salt and vanilla. Mix all ingredients together. Put in ice cream freezer and when cream is firm, or after about 15 minutes, add crushed strawberries. Continue to freeze ice cream until firm. Put in container and set in freezer for three or four hours. Serve with a fresh strawberry and a sprig of mint to finish.

Banana Bread Cake

Ingredients

2 3/4 cup flour
3 ripe bananas
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
 1 stick butter or margarine
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts if desired 
 

Instructions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease bottom of loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3 inches. In a large bowl, mash bananas and add oil, vanilla, honey, eggs and melted stick of butter or margarine. In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Add banana mixture to dry ingredients, mixing well. Place in baking pan and bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean (50 to 60 minutes). Cool for 30 minutes on a wire wrack, removing bread from pan. While cooling, mix frosting from 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, milk. After cooling, cut bread in half. Cover first layer with frosting and add second half frosting the top half as well. When frosted, add a bit of orange zest or candy sprinkles to top of cake for decoration.

Honey Apricot Bread

Ingredients

3 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. nutmeg
1 ¼ cups milk
1 cup HONEY
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp. coconut oil or canola oil
1 cup chopped dried apricots, soaked in very hot water for 20-30 minutes

Instructions

In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. In a separate bowl, combine milk, honey, eggs and oil; pour over dry ingredients and stir just enough to dampen flour. Drain apricots and gently fold into batter. Pour into buttered loaf pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 60-70 minutes, or until done. Remove from pan. Serve with cream cheese spread.
